Fieldstone Leadership Network San Diego exists to support nonprofit professionals and organizations so they are best equipped to serve the people of San Diego. Over the years, we’ve witnessed the transformative impact of strategically investing in people and fostering a trusted, learning community. As such, our work revolves around four key focus areas: building capacity, leading and guiding others, sustaining nonprofit leadership, and creating environments and nurturing relationships to amplify impact.
In our programs, we encourage leaders to contemplate the kind of leader they aspire to be and how that vision influences their current leadership. We, too, assess our impact each year, by asking legacy questions and evaluating how the Network is making a difference in the community. Through this process, we have discovered a “ripple effect” of our collective work—the often unseen but significant consequences of being part of our Network. Ripples manifest as new collaborations, shared resources, friendships, dream jobs, or renewed stores of energy or confidence. Though seemingly secondary, a ripple holds great power to impact the quality of our lives and leadership. We have come to understand more deeply that while we impact your leadership directly, we are simultaneously touching everyone impacted by you over the course of your life. Thus, the ripples of our efforts continue wide and far and often turn into powerful waves of impact in organizations, families and the broader community.
As a nonprofit leader, you tirelessly work to uplift those in need and improve the world for all of us. Your efficiency, effectiveness, and generosity of spirit are unparalleled. As we move into our fifth decade and beyond, we remain driven in our purpose to support you as a nonprofit leader so you may continue to do the work you have been called to do. It is an honor for us to do so and we invite you to join our leadership community.

A Message from our Founder
For forty years, Fieldstone has been all about building community. As we mark this milestone anniversary, many things are different than they were in 1983. But one thing remains; our commitment to supporting nonprofit professionals and organizations so they are equipped to offer programs, services, and opportunities to enhance and strengthen the people of San Diego.
Over the years, we have seen how strategically investing in people and nurturing a learning community transforms, not only a leader, but their organization and, the community they serve. We view our work through four distinct lenses: building capacity, leading and help others to do the same, sustaining nonprofit leadership, and creating environments and nurturing relationships to amplify impact. Thus, our 40th anniversary logo reflects these focus areas.
In our programs we often talk about leadership legacies. We encourage leaders to take the time to think about what kind of leader they want to be and how that vision influences how they lead currently. As we mark 40 years, we, too, are asking legacy questions and assessing how the Network has made a difference in the community over the years. We are evaluating our work against our strategies and theories of change and reflecting on the “ripple effect” of our work together – the often unseen, but dramatic consequences of being part of our Network. A ripple can take many shapes: a new collaboration, a shared resource, a friendship, a dream job, or a renewed store of energy. While a ripple may seem secondary, it has great power to impact the quality of our lives and our leadership. Thus, we will recognize and celebrate forty years of ripples with a grateful heart.
As a nonprofit leader, you work to lift up those most in need and to improve the world for all of us. You do so with efficiency, effectiveness and a generosity of spirit that is unparalleled. After 40 years, it remains an honor to support you through the work of Fieldstone Leadership Network San Diego. Please join us so we can create powerful ripples together.
