Retreats

Nonprofit leaders carry extraordinary responsibilities, holding vision, navigating challenges, and supporting others while often setting aside their own well-being. REnew: A REtreat Series for Nonprofit Leaders offers four daylong experiences designed to nurture resilience and renewal.

These unique gatherings offer time to reflect, gain perspective, and make connections. Art, nature, movement, and other activities are held in creative settings to give leaders a respite from the demands of the workplace and return with a sense of renewal.

Each retreat focuses on a distinct dimension of renewal, while the series as a whole offers a developmental arc: from grounding, to connection, to possibility, to sustainability. Leaders may attend individual retreats or participate in the full series. Retreats are open to all nonprofit professionals, no prior Fieldstone Network experience required.

Program Schedule

The series kicks off in May 2026 with sessions continuing one Friday of the following three months through August. The gatherings will take place 9:30 am – 3:30 pm. Each gathering will include up to 24 leaders to help cultivate connections between participants.

Tuition

Each individual retreat is $225. The series of four retreats is $900. Tuition includes all program facilitation, materials, art supplies, lunch as well as coffee, tea and cold drinks throughout the day.

REconnect: Returning to balance and grounding
Coastal Roots Farm, Encinitas – May 15, 2026
Cultivate community and a sense of belonging with peers who understand the challenges of leading in nonprofits. We’ll spend the day outdoors at Coastal Roots Farm where we’ll explore the farm and make our own pizzas using ingredients we harvested along the way. We’ll practice listening in a way that supports authentic connection and leaves us feeling seen and heard.

REcenter: Deepening relationships and community
Olivewood Gardens and Learning Center, National City – June 12, 2026
Pause, breathe, and revisit your inner compass. We’ll spend the day reconnecting with what called us to work in nonprofits while enjoying time in nature. Learn about the herbs growing at Olivewood Gardens and their culinary uses while steeping in the fragrance of summer. We’ll leave feeling recentered and grounded in our purpose.

REimagine: Opening to creativity and new possibilities
Liberty Station, Point Loma – July 10, 2026
Leadership in a changing world requires creativity and an ability to see what’s possible. Join us for a day of art and play in a variety of mediums. We’ll reflect and make meaning with San Diego Writers, Ink in the morning. The afternoon will hone our ability to adapt (and laugh) courtesy of Mockingbird Improv. We’ll leave with a reimagined sense of perspective.

REstore: Integrating wisdom and sustaining the journey
Camp Stevens, Julian – August 14, 2026
Find energy and nourishment for the work ahead. We’ll tap into our senses to be present in nature and to what is going on within us. Our activities will include guided meditation and hiking to connect with ourselves and each other. We’ll leave feeling refilled and ready for Fall.
