Mary is the network administrator at the Fieldstone Leadership Network San Diego. A graduate of Wellesley College in Wellesley, MA, she was drawn to Fieldstone as a place where she could apply the Wellesley motto of non ministrari sed ministrare—not to be ministered unto, but to minister—to the work of supporting the nonprofit community of San Diego.
Mary’s early career was focused on environmental science and policy with positions at the Council on Environmental Quality in Washington, DC and the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM. After completing her PhD in chemistry at Stanford University, she took time off from paid work to raise her twin sons and to help out in her community. In the past ten years, she has served in many leadership roles as a volunteer supporting local education foundations and youth sports leagues. Her roles have included volunteer coordinator, event planner, sponsorship coordinator, social media coordinator, and foundation president. She continues to volunteer and is currently the executive vice president of the Marshall Mustang Foundation in the Scripps Ranch neighborhood of San Diego, where she lives with her family.
